Pray, Pray, Pray

"The Church is looking for better methods; God is looking for better men"

"What the church needs today is not more or better machinery, not new orginazations or more and novel methods,. She needs men whom the Holy Spirit can use-men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Spirit does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men-men of prayer"!

You know the value of prayer;it is precious beyond all price. Never, never neglct it.

                                                          - Sir Thomas Buxton

Prayer is the first thing, the second thing, the third thing necessary to a minister. Pray, then, my dear brother: pray, pray, pray.

                                                          - Edward Payson

" A certain preacher, whose sermons converted many souls, recieved a revelation from God. It said it was not his sermons or works, but the prayers of an illiterate lay brother who sat on the pulpit steps pleading for the success of the sermon. It was this brother's prayers which brought men to the Lord. This could be the case with us as well. It may be that after laboring long and wearily, without good prayer, all honor belongs to another builder whose prayers were gold, silver, and precious stones; while our sermonizing, being apart from prayer, are but hay and stubble"

                                                           -Rev. C.H. Spurgeon

He who has the spirit of prayer has the highest interest in the court of heaven. And the only way to retain it is to keep it in constant employment. Apostasy begins in the closet. No man ever backslides from the life and power of Christianity who continue constant and fervent in private prayer. He who prays without ceasing is likely to rejoice forevermore.

                                                            -By Adam Clarke

Faith is what gives character to prayer, and is the one prime condition by which man prays, as well as God's works. Faith does not win any kind of victory or receive any type of crown where prayer did not jewel the crown.

Phil. 4

"That those who don't pray for temporal matters cannot pray with confidence about spiritual matters" or "temporal matters not put to God by prayer such as our daily struggles, will never put him on our struggle for heaven".

                                                          -E.M. Bounds

"You know how popular your church is by the attendance at morning service. You know how popular your Pastor is by the attendance at the evening service. And you know how popular Jesus is by the attendance at prayer service".
